I was born and raised in Hong Kong, spent a few years living in UK and Canada and settle in HK ever since. I am eager to see the world and I have traveled to over 40 countries up until now. Hong Kong is my home but I do feel estranged sometimes when I am back as I see things come and go real quickly here, so I value the cultural and social heritage but at the same time active on exploring new trends.

I do a big variety of activities at my free time, to name a few: browsing the fish; flower and bird markets with my camera; checking out weird-looking/smelling produce in wet markets; kayaking to a remote beach for a sunbath or snorkel; seafood tasting at a fishing village after hiking one of the sharpest peaks; touring museums; checking out the latest released gadgets and e-products at local dodgy arcades; chilling inside an upstairs café bathed in live indie music. Join me and I am sure you will have a very rewarding (and tiring) time. Oh! I can even show you how to make some local dishes too.

$200HKD / hour for up to 2 people and $50HKD / hour for each additional person, does not include food or other miscellaneous costs

We had a great time with Cara! We were only in Hong Kong for a weekend, and spending 3 hours with Cara was the perfect introduction. We did just what we’d wanted – which was to see a few different neighborhoods and eat some local favorites. Cara was super friendly, spoke great English, and clearly knew Hong Kong inside and out. I appreciated that there wasn’t a strict plan, but that she was flexible about what we were most interested in doing/eating. She also gave us some great recommendations on what to do with the rest of our time and followed up with detailed information, which we really appreciated. I’d highly recommend doing a tour with her!

Cara took me through an exciting food journey in Kowloon Tong area. We visited local markets, cooked in her own kitchen and shared her delicious noodles and dumplings (and her own all natural homemade dishwashing liquid :), while chatting like old friends! I had a great time and learnt a lot of things on Hong Kongers lifestyle, which is not obvious when you are an expat here. Cara has been an amazing host and a knowledgeable food guide, thank you Cara!

Cara was awesome. We felt like we got a truly local experience, visiting Cheung Chau island (no cars, only bikes!), riding on a sampan boat, and climbing through a real pirate’s cave! Cara has a great photographic eye as well and captured some awesome candids from our day. She knows the city inside and out and made great recommendations to ensure we experienced an authentic and unique side of Hong Kong. Thank you, Cara!

Cara is a great guide and really listened to what we wanted to do. I am an expat living in Hong Kong and had my sister and a friend visiting. They really wanted to explore around Mong Kok (an area I am not familiar with) so it was wonderful having Cara guide us around. We saw lots more in two hours than I could have managed in half a day haha. I highly recommend using Cara or Sam the Local as an expat to help you show your guests around!
